The Poipu Kai is a spacious low-rise resort with the accommodations spread among seventy acres of tropical gardens which stretch between two of Poipu's white sand beaches. On the resort's eastern end is Shipwreck Beach where the waves may be too challenging for many, while on the western end the Brennecke-Poipu Beach Park offers a variety of lagoons, waves and snorkeling suitable for most everyone; a calm lagoon for small kids, a great snorkeling lagoon, and its Brennecke and Waiohai Beaches for body surfers and body boarders of all skill levels.

Poipu Kai has 70 acres of tropical gardens connecting the two beaches at each end of the resort;Shipwreck Beach and Brennecke Beach.	Poipu Kai accommodations entries vary. They can be at ground level, second or third floors. Parking is always close by.	The Poipu Kai Racquet Club has nine hard and soft courts. They are unlit to preserve Kauai's pristine starlit nights.
